Love cricket? Or think you might?

For many years we have successfully run weekly training sessions for primary age children from our local schools. These sessions are designed to be fun with an emphasis on skill development. This year our sessions will start on Friday 10th May at our cricket ground at Drapers Farm Sports Club, Drapers Chase, Heybridge, Maldon, CM9 4QT. All session start at 6.30pm and finish at 7.30pm.

This year we have signed up to the ECB’s ‘All Stars’ programme. This programme is for children in the current Reception, Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 school groups and runs for eight weeks. For the All Stars programme parents/carers will need to sign up online and register their children for the sessions. The block of eight sessions costs £40 and each child signed up receives a pack containing cricket clothing, a cricket bat, a cricket ball, and other training materials from the ECB. To enrol on these sessions either follow this link https://allstarscricket.co.uk/maldon or search for All Stars Cricket and enter Maldon Cricket Club in the location box. You will need to enrol well in advance of the sessions starting in order to receive your child’s cricket pack.

Children in school Years 4, 5 and 6 will also have the opportunity to have training sessions at the same time which will also be run by our club coaches. These sessions can only be booked in-person on the night. For these sessions the cost will be £8 to register for the season plus £3 per session, payable before play each week. Our coaches are all DBS checked and we have been awarded with Clubmark status for many years.

Once the eight week block of All Stars cricket training has finished we will continue our own sessions for all primary school age children until 6th September 2019. These sessions will cost £3 for all children.

These sessions are fantastic fun for all of the family and are well attended. They prove to be a great social evening for everyone. The bar at Drapers Farm is open from 6pm and when the sun shines everyone looks forward to a Friday evening of cricket

Please note that there will be no training on 5th July 2019, 12th July 2019, and 26th July 2019 due to our schools’ Kwik Cricket tournament, an England representative match and our own Cricket Week respectively.

We look forward to welcoming you to Maldon Cricket Club for another great season of Friday night cricket.
